Regional Operations Manager – Betting, iGaming & Gambling job – Highly competitive salary – Zambia

The Opportunity

Our client is looking for an experienced Regional Operations Manager to take ownership of operational performance across key African markets within an established iGaming and sports betting business.

This is a senior operational leadership position suited to someone who understands the realities of running a betting operation in Africa and can translate commercial objectives into effective day-to-day execution.

The successful candidate will bring structure, accountability and operational discipline across the business, working closely with senior leadership and country teams to improve performance, identify opportunities and ensure operational objectives are delivered.

While the role will have a regional focus, strong country-level operational leaders with the ability to step into a broader regional remit will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of operational performance across designated African markets.

  • Translate business strategy and commercial priorities into clear operational plans and measurable objectives.

  • Work closely with country and operational teams to drive performance, accountability and consistency.

  • Identify operational challenges and implement practical solutions to improve efficiency and business performance.

  • Monitor key operational and commercial KPIs, using data and market insight to identify areas for improvement.

  • Support the development and implementation of operational processes, structures and best practices across markets.

  • Work closely with senior leadership on market performance, business planning and strategic initiatives.

  • Ensure operational teams have the structure, resources and direction required to deliver against business objectives.

  • Collaborate with Marketing, Product, CRM, Finance, Compliance, Technology and other departments to ensure operational alignment.

  • Develop strong relationships with local management teams and provide leadership, guidance and mentorship where required.

  • Identify opportunities to improve customer experience, operational efficiency and overall market performance.

  • Maintain a strong understanding of the competitive and regulatory environment across African betting markets.

  • Support the business in scaling its operations and implementing consistent standards across multiple markets.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years’ experience in senior operations, country management or regional management within iGaming or sports betting.

  • Proven experience working for an operator is highly advantageous.

  • Strong understanding of the operational requirements of a betting or gaming business.

  • Demonstrable experience working within African markets, particularly South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe and/or Malawi.

  • Previous experience managing operations within South Africa is strongly preferred.

  • Experience overseeing multiple markets, teams, business units or operational functions.

  • Strong commercial understanding with the ability to connect operational activity to revenue, profitability and overall business performance.

  • Proven ability to establish structure, processes and accountability within operational teams.

  • Strong leadership and people-management capabilities.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to work closely with C-suite and senior stakeholders.

  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where priorities can evolve quickly.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

The Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for an operator-minded leader, not simply someone with a corporate operations title.

You will understand what it takes to run a successful betting business in African markets and will be comfortable getting into the detail when required, while still maintaining a strategic view of the wider operation.

The strongest candidates are likely to have progressed through Operations Manager, Regional Operations Manager, Territory Manager, Country Manager or similar leadership roles within iGaming or sports betting
