Our client, a respected land-based casino operation in Johannesburg, is seeking an accomplished Head of Tables to lead and elevate its Table Games operation.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for a commercially minded casino professional who can balance revenue growth, operational control, regulatory compliance and a premium guest experience. The successful candidate will take ownership of a high-profile gaming operation and lead a large, shift-based team in a fast-paced, 24-hour environment.
The Head of Tables will be responsible for the overall performance, profitability and integrity of the Table Games operation. This includes oversight of live gaming activity, people leadership, revenue optimisation, VIP service delivery, internal controls and compliance with all applicable gaming regulations.
The role requires a visible and decisive leader with strong casino-floor credibility, sound commercial judgement and the ability to maintain exceptional standards under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Table Games management, supervisory and dealer teams.
- Drive departmental revenue, table utilisation, hold performance and operational profitability.
- Ensure all gaming activity is conducted in accordance with regulatory requirements, internal controls and company policies.
- Maintain strict oversight of game protection, fraud prevention, cash handling and operational risk.
- Monitor player activity, table performance and market trends to identify commercial opportunities.
- Optimise staffing, shift rosters and table allocations in line with business demand.
- Deliver consistently high guest-service standards across the tables floor.
- Support VIP and high-value player engagement in collaboration with relevant internal teams.
- Partner with Marketing, Surveillance, Compliance, Finance and senior management on strategic initiatives.
- Manage budgets, labour costs, reporting and departmental performance metrics.
- Lead investigations, incident management and operational escalations where required.
- Build a disciplined, accountable and high-performance culture within the department.
Requirements
- Extensive Table Games leadership experience within a land-based casino environment.
- Proven experience in a senior operational role such as Head of Tables, Table Games Manager or equivalent.
- Strong working knowledge of Roulette, Blackjack, Baccarat, Poker and related live table-game operations.
- Demonstrable experience leading large, shift-based teams in a regulated gaming environment.
- Strong commercial acumen, including revenue management, cost control and performance analysis.
- Solid understanding of gaming regulations, internal controls, compliance and risk management.
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder-management capability.
- A hands-on, highly visible management style with strong personal integrity.
- The ability to remain calm, decisive and detail-oriented in a demanding operational setting.
