Are you ready to lead the charge in one of Africa’s most exciting betting markets?Our client, a growing player in the iGaming and sports betting industry, is looking for a commercially sharp, operationally strong, and market-savvy Country Manager to lead their business in Zambia.

This is not a maintenance role. This is a build, grow, lead, and win opportunity for someone who understands the betting landscape, knows how to drive market performance, and can turn strategy into measurable commercial success.

As Country Manager, you will take ownership of the Zambian operation, driving growth across acquisition, retention, partnerships, retail and/or online operations, regulatory relationships, team leadership, and overall market performance. You will be the person responsible for ensuring the brand competes aggressively, operates compliantly, and delivers sustainable revenue growth.

What you’ll be doing

You will lead the overall country strategy for Zambia, ensuring the business is commercially competitive, operationally efficient, and locally relevant.
You will oversee market growth, customer acquisition, retention, revenue performance, product localisation, promotional strategy, and brand positioning.
You will work closely with internal teams across marketing, product, payments, compliance, operations, customer support, finance, and technology to ensure the Zambian market has what it needs to perform.
You will manage relationships with regulators, suppliers, payment partners, affiliates, media partners, and other key local stakeholders.
You will monitor competitor activity, market trends, customer behaviour, regulatory changes, and commercial opportunities, using this insight to sharpen the company’s local strategy.
You will lead, develop, and motivate the local team, creating a performance-driven culture with clear accountability, strong execution, and high standards.
You will be responsible for budgets, forecasts, KPIs, reporting, and overall country P&L performance.

What we’re looking for

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in the iGaming, sports betting, online betting, retail betting, casino, lottery, or gaming industry, with a proven ability to grow and manage a country, region, or major commercial operation.
You should understand how African betting markets work, including customer acquisition, mobile-first betting behaviour, local payment methods, retail and digital channels, regulatory frameworks, and the importance of speed, trust, and brand visibility.
You will need strong commercial judgment, excellent leadership skills, and the confidence to make decisions in a fast-moving, competitive environment.
You should be highly analytical, but not the type to hide behind dashboards. This role needs someone who can read the numbers, understand the story behind them, and act quickly.
Experience in Zambia or another African betting market would be a strong advantage.
