A leading full-service advertising agency has a great job opportunity for a Social Media Community Manager to join their team in Durban. They need someone who is well versed in community management and who’s able to act as a guiding force for both the internal team and external public community

The Social Media Community Manager in Durban will answer user questions to fostering engagement between members, you will be responsible for creating a space of value for power users. You will work closely with other community managers, Product teams, Marketing, and Engineering to coordinate enhancements that will improve user experience as well as drive product improvement. You will have experience growing and managing a scaled user community on an international scale. The ideal Social Media Community Manager for this job must be comfortable working in a dynamic environment and remaining flexible to the needs of the project. You should be someone who is passionate about user success, online social engagement, and understand the value of relationship building in an online space

Requirements for this Social Media Community Manager job in Durban:

  • Must have relevant digital certifications. Marketing degree preferred
  • 2+ years in online community management experience
  • Must be fully proficient in all social media platforms
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (online and offline)
  • Proven ability to engage a user base through genuine, thoughtful, and interesting content and conversation
  • Ability to work with global teams and adapt initiatives for cultural differences
  • Strong experience in quality content writing
  • Aware and in touch with local current events/trends on a regular basis
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and demands
  • Experience in exercising judgement and discretion with sensitive, confidential information
  • Manage critical situations on social platforms
  • Contributed to larger offline community efforts (event planning, etc)
