Digital Communications Manager – Marketing and Communications job – R240 000 – R324 000 p/a – Cape Town, South Africa

A leading public relations and marketing agency have a great job opportunity for a Digital Communications Manager to join their team in Cape Town. If you have at least three years of prior experience in communications, public relations or related field, this job could be perfect for you!

Your key job responsibilities as the Digital Communications Manager in Cape Town will include:

  • Manage digital content and social media strategies in alignment with clients’ plans to continually reach their main audiences
  • Create and curate new content to showcase
  • Manage content inquiries, updates and projects
  • Responsible for daily, weekly and periodic content updates
  • Renew highlighted content areas; write or edit copy; follow brand standards; verify accuracy, proofread final copy or posts
  • Review (annually or as needed) website content
  • Build and run various social campaigns
  • Recommend considerate and timely approaches to comments, reviews, direct messages, and other conversations on all networks; works with relations staff to implement as needed
  • Develop content calendars with contributor input for social networks based on editorial needs, events, special events, etc.
  • Track and measures effectiveness of social media activities using Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, Hootsuite Reports, and other tools necessary for reporting purposes
  • Writes and edits stories for social media and the website, which may also be used in newsletters, magazine and press releases

Requirements for this Digital Communications Manager job in Cape Town:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Media, Marketing, English, Communications, or a related field
  • 3+ years of prior experience in communications, public relations or related field
  • 2+ years of experience working with social media
  • Demonstrated writing, editing, and interpersonal skills required
  • Experienced social media user: Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Snapchat
  • Experience with social media campaigns, tactics, and analytics
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment is essential
  • Experience with WordPress CMS, managing website and social media content
